- Glows in the light — Sunlight or lamp light shines through the hand-carved hollow-outs, revealing a burst of colorful fireworks hidden inside the white porcelain.
- Jingdezhen linglong porcelain — A 1,000-year-old craft found only in Jingdezhen, where artisans drill each tiny opening by hand before glazing and firing.
- Hand-painted colorful fireworks — Delicate red, yellow, green, blue and purple strokes, applied by hand, no two cups exactly alike.
- Set includes cup + saucer + spoon — A complete 3-piece set, ready for coffee, tea, latte or espresso.
- Smooth glazed finish — Food-safe, lead-free, easy to clean; the glaze stays bright white after years of use.
- A gift with a story — Beautiful on its own, perfect for housewarmings, birthdays, tea lovers and collectors of Chinese porcelain.
The Story Behind the Glow
linglong porcelain — literally "emerald porcelain" — is known as one of Jingdezhen's four treasures. Artisans drill tiny holes ("linglong holes") into the unfired clay, then fill them with transparent glaze and fire at high temperature. When the glaze melts, it seals the holes into tiny windows of light.
Because every hole is drilled by hand and must survive the firing without cracking, only about 50% of each batch makes it out of the kiln intact. What you hold is the other half.
